Dalhousie is a small city in the lap of Himachal Pradesh and a popular tourist point within the Dhauladhar range. Dalhousie was founded in 1854 by a British Governor Lord Dalhousie and it’s one of the favorite places of the British during the summer, they used this place to spend some time in a quiet and a cool place. How to Reach

There is no Railway station and Airport in Dalhousie, so you can reach Dalhousie by Bus or car. The nearest railway station is Pathankot railway station at a distance from 85 km and expected time is around 3 hours. You can take bus from Pathankot bus stand to Dalhousie and the ticket price of bus is simply Rs 120. You can also take Volvo bus from Delhi whose expected time will be 14 to 15 hours, you can also book ticket online. The nearest Airport from Dalhousie is Amritsar airport at a distance from 202 km.

Khajjiar

Khajjiar is a small town near Dalhousie which is also popularly known as 'Mini Switzerland' or 'Switzerland of India'. The magnificent beauty of this place attracts everyone towards it. It is found at an elevation of 6,500 feet, Khajjiar is one of the foremost places to visit near Dalhousie due to its natural beauty and picturesque landscape. Khajjiar is a plateau with a small lake which is one of the foremost preferred places for tourists. Adventure sports like zorbing, trekking etc. It attracts lots of tourists to this place.


Satdhara Falls

The Satadhara waterfall is found within the Chamba Valley, surrounded by magnificent views of snow-capped mountains and fresh deodar trees.  The beautiful word 'Satadhara' means seven waterfalls, this waterfall is named after the seven beautiful waterfalls of the seven streams meet at the same time. The water of these springs meets at a point 2036 meters above the water.

Kalatop Wildlife Reserve

Kalatop Khajiar Sanctuary is also known as Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary which is found within the Chambal District of Himachal Pradesh and is one of the popular tourist destinations of Dalhousie. The name Kalatop means 'black hat', which in all likelihood refers to the dense black forest on the highest hill in the sanctuary. The name of this mountain was obtained from its special feature Ganji Pahadi because there is complete lack of vegetation on this hill. Ganji means baldness. This hill is a major picnic, hiking and trekking spot due to its location near Dalhousie. During winter, this area is covered with thick snow which presents scenic views.


Subhash Baoli

Subhash Baoli is a place found 1 km from Gandhi Chowk in Dalhousie, named after the famous freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose. Subhash Baoli is known for its beautiful scenic views, far-reaching snow mountain views and amazing beauty. Subhash Baoli is that the place where Subhash Chandra Bose came in 1937 due to a health problem and he remain at this place for 7 months. He was fully cured by staying at this place. Sach Pass

The Sach Pass is an amazing hill pass that stand up at an altitude of 4500 meters above the Pir Panjal mountain range and connects Dalhousie with the Chamba and Pangi valleys. The route is at a distance of 160 km from Dalhousie, it is one of the most difficult routes to cross in Himachal Pradesh, India. People who like adventure frequently visit the true pass (when it is open) and experience the thrill of riding a bike or car from here. Chamunda Devi Temple

Chamunda Devi Temple is a beautiful religious center dedicated to Goddess Kali. It’s said about this temple that Goddess Ambika killed the demons named Munda and Chanda here. In this temple, the goddess is kept swaddle in a red cloth, tourists coming here are not allowed to touch the idol of the goddess. Tourists also enjoy many beautiful views in this area.


Panchpula

Panchpula is a amazing waterfall surrounded by a cover of green deodar trees which is one of the major tourist places of Dalhousie. Panchpula is the place where five streams come at the same time. The main stream of Panchpula supplies water to lots of places around Dalhousie. This place is known for trekking and its beautiful scenic views. A samadhi (memorial) has been build near Panchpula in memory of a great revolutionary Sardar Ajit Singh (uncle of Shaheed Bhagat Singh), where he draw breathe his last.
